Description
THE IMPOSSIBLE CASE FILES
25 Mystery Puzzles for Young Detectives
Six mysteries. Twenty-five puzzles. One detective.
Welcome to Story-Doku — a screen-free detective adventure where the grid is the evidence and every solved puzzle moves the case forward.
Someone has stolen a moonstone.
Someone is signalling from a lighthouse that has no bulb.
Someone has stolen an eighty-one-year-old silver trophy in front of four hundred people.
And those are only the first three mysteries.
You will work through six separate cases, each built around a sequence of logic puzzles. Every puzzle asks you to work out who was where and when, using clues, deductions and the Story-Doku grid.
No guessing. No random trial and error. Just clues, logic and detective work.

Why Story-Doku?
Story-Doku combines a story-driven mystery with a structured logic grid. Children learn to:
- read and interpret clues
- eliminate what cannot be true
- spot what must be true
- use timing and order clues
- connect deductions across a grid
- work systematically instead of guessing
- prove an answer rather than simply choosing one
The story gives every puzzle a reason to matter.
For ages 9–12
Designed for young detectives approximately ages 9–12. The book begins with guided training and gradually introduces more demanding logic while keeping the core solving method consistent.

Answers & explanations
The answer section begins on page 112. Every puzzle has a completed grid followed by a “How it comes apart” walkthrough.
The explanations show the actual logical route rather than simply giving the final answer. Children should try the puzzle first and use the answer section as a second opinion when they are genuinely stuck.
The final reward
After completing the mysteries, young detectives reach the final Master Case and can finish with their Junior Detective Certificate on page 161.
